The Cost of a Quebec Driver’s Licence Increases Yet Again!

In 2010, the cost a Quebec driver’s licence will increase from $72/year to $86/year. Remarkably, this is a 200% increase since 2006. Have you noticed? I bet you haven’t.

Back in 2006 the driver’s licence for a Quebecer was $86 for a two year period. Since then, the SAAQ has decided to renew driver’s licences on an annual basis. Immediately I thought this was bad news. In 2007, the fee was $55 per year. In 2008 the fee increased to $72 per year. Now it’s back to $86, however Quebecers must renew annually.
